In recent years time lapse photography has been popping up everywhere. Communicating the passage of time used to be hard to do, ir required special cameras and was often used in scientific applications. Now digital cameras make it much easier to create interesting short films to supplement still photography at weddings or other events. Combined with video clips, time lapse sequences can spice up even the most mundane presentations. 

I've been experimenting with time lapse sequences for several years now and have several extra cameras that I can set up at events and let them run while I'm doing other things.
